The Enchanted Clothesline
With the box tucked firmly under your arm and the word “Fungus” echoing in your thoughts, you wander deeper into the mystical grove of Sunnyside Fields. “Fungus?” you mutter, wondering what on earth that’s supposed to mean.
Only when you step into a clearing where mushrooms grow so enormous they could double as hats for tree giants—then it starts to make sense. “Ah. Fungus. Of course,” you whisper, feeling like the forest itself has just taught you a quiet little lesson. But your wonder doesn’t last long.
Before you stands a small creature with an absurdly oversized mushroom cap, hopping frantically around a laundry basket. It looks like a mushroom that decided to live life as a forest gnome—and it is clearly in distress.
“It’s cursed!” it cries, pointing dramatically at a heap of wet laundry that clearly has no intention of drying anytime soon. The basket is full of clothespins, each marked with a tiny label.
Apparently, the laundry must be hung up in the correct order to break the curse. “That was Tharnok!” hisses the creature into the shadows of the forest. “That shadow warrior despises my love for nature. He wanted to humiliate me! I’m supposed to meet my girlfriend tonight—and I can’t show up in soggy socks!”
With a desperate look, the creature gestures to the pins. “Please, save me from disgrace!” It hops nervously as you examine the basket and the clothespins.
The task seems simple—yet deeply, almost magically complicated. You can feel the forest watching. There’s no turning back. The laundry must be hung—and hung correctly.
Break the curse
Arrange the clothespins with care, so the magic can take its course.
