The Dancing Shadows

You step into the fortress, and immediately something feels off. The walls shift ever so slightly, the shadows dance as if they have a life of their own.

Tinker beeps nervously. “I… I don’t think we’re alone.” Willow shakes his head. “Of course not. This practically screams ‘perfect moment for an epic mistake.’” A voice whispers through the darkness: “The shadows here obey only me. You will lose yourself in them if you don’t learn to guide them.” Umbra sounds almost amused.

“Position yourself wisely, or you will never see the light again.”
Suddenly, the walls move faster, as if they’re wrestling each other for dominance. Shadows slide over one another, pushing forward and retreating. Tinker projects a schematic of the surroundings.

“This is a test,” she beeps. “The shadows reveal where you stand. If you’re not properly positioned, you won’t get through.” Before you, shimmering platforms appear, each marked with a different symbol.

They feel strangely tangible and yet not entirely real.
“Place them in the correct spots,” murmurs Umbra.
“And find out if you can understand their order.”

Activate the Portals

Tinker beeps nervously as the pedestals in front of you glow and shift slightly. “Okay, we’re in! But these pedestals seem… strange. Umbra has tampered with them, and I think we need to place them correctly to stabilize the room.”
