The Cascade Creek
After leaving the cave, you find yourself standing before a raging creek—marked as Cubcreek on your map. The roaring current seems to whisper: “This is where your journey ends, unless you know what you’re doing.” The path across is anything but welcoming. Stone slabs appear to float on the water’s surface, forming a fragile bridge. Each slab bears a symbol that looks vaguely familiar.
After a moment of thought, you realize the slabs follow a hierarchy. The air feels heavy with meaning—or maybe it’s just the mist. A familiar mark from Bastet on a nearby tree points you toward a clue—something about the order in which to cross. With a queasy feeling, you pick up a stone and place it on one of the slabs. As soon as you do, the slab sinks—and all the others vanish. There’s no second chance. The order must be right from the beginning.
After a few cautious attempts and careful observation, the logic becomes clear:
You must start with the slab of lowest priority and work your way up—step by careful step. A sinister laugh cuts through the rushing water. Tharnok watches from afar, unmistakably delighted by confusion and failure. But brute force won’t help you here.
Only those who understand the cascade can move forward. With each step, you feel the creek testing your determination.
“Bastet and Gart are counting on me,” you remind yourself. You can do this—if you respect the hierarchy of the slabs… and keep your calm.

Cross the stream.
And under no circumstances step on the wrong tiles.
Follow the cascade’s sequence exactly.
