Between Paths and Madness
The labyrinth is a nightmare of shifting corridors and rooms, each one seemingly trying to out-confuse the other. You’ve long lost your sense of direction, and Tinker buzzes nervously. “This is impossible! This labyrinth is a bad joke.”
Suddenly, you hear a soft but very deliberate ahem. A tiny light appears ahead – which, upon closer inspection, turns out to be a Pixie.
“A bad joke? That’s an insult to all the really good jokes out there,” she says, in a tone somewhere between offended and amused.
“I’m Luma. I’m here to make sure you don’t behave dumber than you look – which, to be honest, is no small task.” Tinker blinks indignantly, but you manage to hold her back. “Can you help us?” you ask cautiously.
“Of course I can help,” Luma replies, her voice dripping with smugness. “But where’s the fun in that? How about I just watch, make snarky comments, and maybe – if I get bored – drop a useful hint?”
A thunderous laugh suddenly echoes through the corridors. “You are in my realm,” booms a deep voice, coming from every direction. “This labyrinth is no place for mortals. It is a tool – and I will use it to trap you here forever.”
“Oh, lovely,” Luma mutters, floating lazily onto a beam of light, grinning with a shade of mockery. “The centaur with a god complex. We’ve really hit the jackpot.”
Before your eyes, the map begins to shift. Rooms slide across the parchment like puzzle pieces rearranged by someone in a particularly bad mood.
Luma hisses, “Rearrange the map – now! Before we all vanish into eternal disorientation! Show Vorath that flexibility is mightier than brute strength.”
You start to arrange the rooms, Vorath’s mocking laughter thundering closer with each second. “You cannot win,” he sneers – but with every successfully aligned section, the map slips further from his grasp.
Tinker beeps encouragingly. “We’ve got a path. Vorath may be strong… but we’re smarter. Well… most of the time.”
Create the Map of the Labyrinth
Work with your friends to create a detailed map of the first level in the Labyrinth of Vorath.
Make sure to use the correct flexible properties so Tinker can read the map and reveal Vorath’s weaknesses.
