Bastet`s Message
The crackling in the communication device sharpens into a clear, unmistakable voice. “You’re there,” says Bastet—and the relief in her tone makes your heart race. “I knew you’d make it.”
Tinker buzzes excitedly around the device, like a mechanical bumblebee, projecting the resistance’s symbol onto the wall. “Bastet!” you shout, even though you’re fairly sure the device wasn’t built for two-way conversations. But Bastet continues speaking, undeterred by the limitations of technology—or your pounding heart.
“I don’t have much time. Cobol’s machines are closer than you think. You must secure Greenwood Hollow. The information I’m sending is vital.” The hologram flickers like a flame in the wind before revealing a list—so neat it practically smells like Bastet’s handwriting.
“Use these lists,” she says. “Structure the information. Bring order to chaos. And lead the resistance.” Her voice begins to fade, as if reaching too far through the ether— but her final words strike deep:
“Words can save—but only if they’re understood.”
Tinker spins triumphantly in the air and lets out a delighted beep, then projects another message: “Bastet’s Plans – Prioritize. List. Organize. Lists are the key to clarity and strategy.” You look at the list— and even though it’s made of nothing but words, it gives you confidence like an armor woven from pure optimism.
For Freedom
Create lists for the resistance and spread them using the ancient technology of fax machines, which still slumber in the old communication outpost. Smoke signals? Stylish, perhaps—but rather impractical for lists.
